Watch Musicals on Disney+! Live Performances of 6 EMK Musicals Including Elisabeth and Phantom to be Released Sequentially in August

Korea's leading musical production company EMK Musical Company announced on the 21st that it will release live performance videos of 6 musicals in collaboration with the online video service (OTT) Disney+.

Through this collaboration, large-scale musical works that could only be seen in theaters can now be enjoyed at home. According to the release schedule, 'Elisabeth' and 'Phantom' will be available starting August 6, followed by 'Monte Cristo' and 'The Man Who Laughs' on the 13th, and 'Excalibur' and 'Marie Antoinette' on the 20th, all on Disney+.

The first to be released, 'Elisabeth', depicts the tumultuous life of Empress Elisabeth von Wittelsbach of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The live film 〈Elisabeth: The Musical Live〉 that will be showcased this time attracted nearly 50,000 viewers last year, creating a significant buzz in theaters. Ok Joo-hyun and Lee Hae-jun star in leading roles, delivering a high-quality performance.

Also being released is 'Phantom', a musical based on Gaston Leroux's novel 「The Phantom of the Opera」. This work is completely separate from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' that many people think of, and it has gained attention for its unique interpretation and direction. The live performance video features talented actors including Kyuhyun from Super Junior, Lim Sun-hye, and Yoon Young-seok.

In August on Disney+, you can also find 'Monte Cristo', based on Alexandre Dumas's novel of the same name, 'The Man Who Laughs', based on Victor Hugo's novel of the same name, 'Excalibur', depicting the legend of King Arthur of Britain, and 'Marie Antoinette', which deals with the life of the 18th-century French queen Marie Antoinette.
