
Singer Lee Hyori has become a hot topic after confessing her shocking injury experience from a dog bite accident.
In the JTBC special documentary 'More Beautiful than Heaven: Hye-ja's Garden' aired on the afternoon of the 27th, Lee Hyori appeared alongside Kim Hye-ja and shared her horrific accident experience.
Lee Hyori showed her deformed left middle finger and made a shocking confession, saying, 'I almost lost my hand while trying to break up a dog fight. The nerves were completely severed, and I was hospitalized.' She vividly recalled the horrific situation, stating, 'It’s been about 2 years since the surgery. My hand was dangling, and I thought it was cut off.'
She also revealed the urgent situation during the surgery. Lee Hyori said, 'My husband was recording in Seoul at the time, and they said they needed the owner's consent to perform the surgery,' sharing the urgent moments in the emergency room.
In response, Kim Hye-ja expressed her concern, saying, 'What is this for a woman's hand?' to which Lee Hyori showed remarkable calmness. She confidently declared, 'I heard people say, 'What will you do with this hand when it airs?' but I am not ashamed at all.'
Kim Hye-ja also stated, 'I don't think I would be ashamed either. It's about loving the puppies. It's just that she got hurt,' expressing her understanding of Lee Hyori's noble spirit of animal love.
Lee Hyori is a star known for her long-standing activities in animal rescue. Starting with the adoption of a rescued dog named Soon-shim while volunteering at the Anseong Pyeonggang Princess Shelter in 2010, she currently raises 6 rescued dogs. In addition, in 2011, she released a song titled 'Please Stay' sung from the perspective of rescued animals and donated all the proceeds to the shelter.
