Musical 'Treadmill' Opens in July with a Stronger Presence than Previous Seasons

The original musical 'Treadmill', which heated up Daehangno in 2022, is set to open on July 15 at the Link Art Center Dream Hall 1 with an upgraded appearance. The production company, Studio Vibes Stone, stated, "With a new stage, creative team, and solid cast joining, we plan to present a work of higher quality than the previous season."

The musical 'Treadmill' begins with a mysterious story when B visits A, who works at a car wash called 'Washing Zone'. B presents a new proposal to A, who lives in an inescapable stench, and as A accepts it, the plot takes an unpredictable turn.

Having pioneered a new genre called 'Buddy Musical' through its tryout premiere and re-run in 2022, 'Treadmill' has secured a strong fan base with its live band's rock sound, addictive numbers, and the bromance between A and B. It has been praised for cleverly addressing somewhat heavy themes, bringing a fresh breeze to Daehangno.

In this season, director Son Hyo-won, writer Ko Ya-kyung, composer Jeon Hye-sun, and producer Lee Jae-woo will be joined by new musical director/composer Heo Soo-hyun, adding musical depth to the work. In particular, the reunion of writer Ko Ya-kyung and composer Jeon Hye-sun, who received acclaim for the musical 'First Man: The Last Story Left by Camus', is highly anticipated.

In the role of 'A', Yang Ji-won and Kim Woo-sung join the cast, while Ban Jung-mo, who played 'A' in the last season, returns to the stage. In the role of 'B', Kim Chan-ho and Seong Yeon join as new faces, and Jeong Dong-hwa, who previously played 'A' last season, transforms into 'B' to offer freshness to the audience.

The musical 'Treadmill' was selected as a work in the CJ Cultural Foundation's 'Stage Up' creative group category in 2022, and has worked on development with the support of the CJ Cultural Foundation. 'Stage Up' has contributed to the Korean musical market by discovering high-quality original musicals such as 'The Goddess is Watching', 'Pungwolju', and 'Arangga'.
