Actor Jin Tae-hyun, known as a representative running enthusiast in the entertainment industry, voiced strong criticism regarding the dating atmosphere in running clubs.
On the 26th, Jin Tae-hyun communicated with fans through the 'Ask Me Anything' feature on his personal SNS. During this process, when a fan shared their concerns about dating issues within the running crew, Jin Tae-hyun gave an unexpectedly straightforward response.
The fan explained, 'A handsome guy in the running crew got my number, but there’s a popular girl who gets jealous when we run together, so I’m worried.' To this, Jin Tae-hyun firmly stated, 'I’m sorry, but I have no interest in such running crews. If it’s a running crew, just run. This is why I don’t like clubs.'

In particular, Jin Tae-hyun added realistic advice emphasizing the benefits of personal exercise, saying, 'If you’re worried, just run alone. You can be happy exercising alone. And you might be misunderstanding things alone.' This is interpreted as a critique of the dating-centered atmosphere that deviates from the original purpose of running crews.
Meanwhile, in response to a question about what prompted him to start running, he revealed a heartbreaking story. He said, 'It’s a promise to my only biological daughter who went to heaven first. I intend to keep the promise until I can gift her a marathon completion.'
Jin Tae-hyun married actress Park Si-eun in 2015 and experienced the pain of a miscarriage just 20 days before giving birth in 2022. He currently has a warm family with three adopted daughters and continues to run steadily to keep the promise made to his daughter in heaven.
Jin Tae-hyun's recent remarks are seen as a wake-up call to some running crews that have transformed into gatherings for dating rather than simple exercise clubs, raising interest in the pure exercise purpose of running culture.
