TVing Officially Enters the Short-form Content Market with 'TVing Short Original' Launching on August 4

The domestic OTT platform TVing announced on the 29th that it will officially launch its self-produced short-form content brand 'TVing Short Original' on August 4, marking its full entry into the short-form content market. TVing aims to target young viewers who are accustomed to mobile viewing through short-form content that delivers intense entertainment in a short amount of time.

TVing described 'TVing Short Original' as "short-form content of 1-2 minutes per episode that TVing plans and produces directly for exclusive distribution," adding that it encompasses various genres from drama to entertainment based on concise development and immersive storytelling. TVing expects to maximize the strengths of short-form content, such as rapid development and high immersion, to provide viewers with an enjoyable experience in an efficient manner.

On August 4 and 18, TVing will sequentially release four short dramas through 'TVing Short Original' featuring different themes and genres, including suspense revenge drama, office romance, BL (Boys Love), and romance.

The first release on August 4, 'Shut Up, the Villain of My Work is You,' is a suspense revenge drama that unfolds as a victim of school violence casts their tormentor as the lead in a drama for revenge. TVing noted that this is the first short drama appearance of actress Park Yoo-na, who starred in 'SKY Castle' and 'Hotel Del Luna.'

Also released on the same day, 'Neighbor Killer' stars Cha Hak-yeon, the leader of the group VIXX and an active actor, alongside model and actor Kang Ri-han, and is expected to draw attention as it is co-produced by PD Yang Jung-woo of tvN's 'Ask Us Anything' and writer Jeong Ho-joon of 'Prison Playbook.'

On August 18, 'I Will Repay Infidelity with Infidelity' and 'Me, Myself, and I' will be released. TVing stated that 'TVing Short Original' will be available for viewing on mobile and tablets through a dedicated brand section within the TVing app, and to celebrate the launch, all 'Short Originals' and short-form content released this year will be available for free to everyone.

TVing emphasized that it plans to showcase various short dramas not only through self-produced short originals but also through collaborations with external production companies, stating, "Based on TVing's differentiated K-content production capabilities, we will lead the expansion of domestic K-content by encompassing a variety of genres and formats."
