The experiential pop-up store of group BTS has proven the creative planning power of K-pop content by winning a prestigious design award.
The agency Big Hit Music announced on the 31st that 'BTS Pop-Up: Monochrome' has won the Grand Prize in the Brand & Communication Design category at the renowned '2025 Red Dot Design Award' in Germany.
The award-winning 'Monochrome' is a pop-up store that embodies the precious memories of BTS and their fans through the unique concept of 'Memory Cloud'. Based on the storytelling of delivering memory clouds to fans around the world, it has gained attention for its innovative planning that organically connects online and offline experiences, including a dedicated website that allows real-time tracking of the delivery process.
Starting in April last year in Seoul, this pop-up store was sequentially held in nine cities around the world, including Tokyo, Japan; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Los Angeles, USA, recording a total of over 270,000 visitors in one year.
The Red Dot Design Award is a global design award that started in Germany in 1955, evaluating the creativity, completeness, and functionality of design works from around the world each year to select the winners. This year's award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Germany in November.
