Exciting news has emerged for James Bond fans waiting for information about Denis Villeneuve's new 007 film. There are claims that an actor has already auditioned for the lead role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources close to the production team claim that 37-year-old actor Scott Rose-Mash participated in an audition at the end of June.
Screen Test with GoldenEye Script
The source stated, "Rose-Mash auditioned by reading parts of the script from the 1995 film 'GoldenEye' around the end of June," adding, "It is presumed to have taken place in front of the newly hired director Denis Villeneuve."
Additionally, it was mentioned that "there is a possibility that parts of the Bond 26 script being written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight were also covered."
'Do Not Imitate Previous Bonds' Instruction
According to the source, Rose-Mash received only one directorial instruction before the screen test: 'Do not imitate previous Bonds.'
The Hollywood Reporter analyzed that this could serve as evidence against the widely held theory that Amazon intends to reboot with a younger Bond to attract a younger audience.
No Official Statement from Amazon or Actor's Side
Both Amazon MGM Studios and Rose-Mash's representatives did not respond to requests for comments from The Hollywood Reporter. Therefore, for now, it is treated as a rumor and should be taken cautiously.
Rose-Mash's Filmography
Scott Rose-Mash's filmography includes the 2021 film 'Code of Silence' and the 2022 film 'Wolves of War.' He has also appeared in TV series such as 'The Outlaws,' 'Chloe,' and 'I Am Gudeppa.'
Villeneuve's 007 Project
Denis Villeneuve is set to direct a James Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios after completing work on 'Dune 3.' This comes after Amazon gained full creative control over the 007 franchise through a joint deal with Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
As of now, no actor has been cast in the role of 007, and the film's release date has not been set. The script is reportedly being written by 'Peaky Blinders' creator Steven Knight.
