Kim Jong-kook Celebrates 30th Anniversary Debut with Surprise Announcement "I Am Getting Married!"

Singer and broadcaster Kim Jong-kook (49) has made a surprise announcement about his marriage. This year, marking his 30th anniversary debut, he revealed that he will be opening a new chapter in his life instead of focusing on music activities.

On the morning of the 18th, Kim Jong-kook shared the news of his marriage through his fan cafe, stating, "I am getting married!" He mentioned, "This year is my 30th anniversary debut, and instead of making an album, I have made my other half."

Regarding his decision to marry at the late age of 49, Kim Jong-kook expressed, "It’s quite late, but how fortunate it is to be going this way." He added, "I hope you will congratulate and support me, and I will strive to live well."

No specific information about the bride-to-be has been disclosed. Kim Jong-kook stated, "The wedding will be held quietly with family, relatives, and a few close friends in a not too large scale in the near future."

Kim Jong-kook debuted in 1995 with the group Turbo, leaving a significant mark on the Korean music industry. He led the golden age of 1990s dance music with hit songs like 'Recollection', 'White Love', and 'Twist King'.

After transitioning to a solo artist in 2001, his success continued. He released consecutive hit songs such as 'One Man', 'Staying in Place', and 'Lovely', and particularly in 2005, he set a record by sweeping the year-end music awards from the three major terrestrial TV networks with his third solo album featuring 'Lovely'.

Since the 2000s, Kim Jong-kook has shown a unique presence in entertainment programs. He has been active in shows like 'X-Man', 'Family Outing', 'Running Man', and 'My Little Old Boy', and even won the Grand Prize at the 2020 SBS Entertainment Awards.

Kim Jong-kook shared, "I have always been mentally prepared for the day when I would write and post something like this, but as I actually prepare this writing, I feel more nervous and excited than I imagined." He expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the fans who have always been a great support for a long time, I am getting married and taking on new challenges in life.
