Studio & New Partners with Artist Company for 'Annoying Love' and Other Drama Co-Productions

Content media group NEW's content production subsidiary Studio & New announced on the 18th that it has signed a co-production contract with Artist Company for various collaborations in drama production, distribution, promotion, and additional business. This co-production contract aims to enhance competitiveness in the drama production market by combining the content planning and production capabilities of both companies, as well as expanding content procurement and business areas. Starting with a lineup of three projects that highlight the synergy of popular IP sequels and creators and actors who have received acclaim from global audiences, they plan to accelerate their co-production efforts.

The first collaboration between Studio & New and Artist Company, 'Annoying Love', is currently in production with the goal of airing on tvN in the second half of 2025. Written by Jeong Ye-rang, who achieved a peak viewership rating of 18.5% with 'Doctor Cha Jeong-sook', 'Annoying Love' deals with the growth of a national actor who has lost their initial passion and an elite reporter who has lost their position, as they overcome their respective prejudices. The cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Lim Ji-yeon, Kim Ji-hoon, Seo Ji-hye, and Oh Yeon-seo.

Two works from the writer team, which has proven a solid fandom and topicality, are also in production with the goal of being released in the second half of 2026. Following the presentation of 'Advisor - People Who Move the World' Seasons 1 and 2, writer Lee Dae-il, who recently showcased strong storytelling with 'Good Boy', will participate as a creator in 'The Essence of Soju', which will be written by writer Heo Ji-soo, who is gaining attention for their new sensibility and warm perspective. Season 2 of 'Good Partner', praised for the vivid reporting and writing skills of writer Choi Yoo-na, a current divorce attorney, is expected to resonate with viewers through an even more expanded worldview and deeper narrative. Both companies plan to expand their business comprehensively, starting with co-production projects and moving into additional business areas, striving to build a sustainable business model.
