Actor Lee Seong-wook is captivating viewers with his intense performances as he moves between dramas and OTT series.
Currently, Lee Seong-wook plays the role of the shooting club director Jeon Nak-kyun in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Try: We Become Miracles’. Although he is a teacher, he is intensely active as a character who prioritizes his own safety over that of his students. In particular, he commits entrance exam corruption for his own position, pressures the part-time shooting coach Lee Ji (played by Lim Se-mi) with a brazen attitude, and does his best to expel the rugby club director Garam (played by Yoon Kye-sang) from the school to secure his position, stirring up anger as the top villain of Hanyang High School. Lee Seong-wook proves to be an indispensable character in ‘Try’ with his realistic portrayal of the rapidly changing strengths and weaknesses of Nak-kyun in various situations, showcasing the true value of his acting skills.
Meanwhile, in the Netflix series ‘Equestrian’, which has topped the Netflix Korean series TOP 10 and received a hot response amid critical acclaim, Lee Seong-wook surprises everyone with his intense performance as another character. In ‘Equestrian’, he plays Chief Choi, who works for the government, leaving an impact as he clashes with the representative of Shinsung Film Company, Gu Jung-ho (played by Jin Seon-kyu). Despite having few lines, he filled the drama with an overwhelming presence. Particularly, his performance, enhanced by his visual appeal in a burgundy suit and slicked-back hair, sent chills down the spine, earning him praise as a ‘scene-stealer’ from many viewers.
In this way, Lee Seong-wook is showcasing a strong presence by attractively portraying different villainous characters at the same time. Throughout his career, Lee Seong-wook has taken on three-dimensional characters that traverse good and evil, actively participating in various works. Notably, in the drama ‘365: One Year Against Destiny’, he played a character holding the key to a twist, winning the Best Supporting Actor award at the ‘MBC Acting Awards’ that year, and in the Coupang Play series ‘Bait’, he heightened immersion with a character shrouded in mystery, moving between the past and present. In the drama ‘Weather People: The Cruel History of Office Romance’, he showcased warm acting as a senior forecaster, and in addition, he has appeared in various works such as Netflix’s ‘In the Woods Where No One Is’ and ‘Gyeongseong Creature 2’ over the past year, continuing his active career. As such, there is growing anticipation and interest in Lee Seong-wook’s future acting endeavors.
Meanwhile, the SBS drama ‘Try: We Become Miracles’, featuring Lee Seong-wook, will air its final episode on the 30th at 9:50 PM, and all episodes of ‘Equestrian’ can be watched on Netflix.
