Makoto Shinkai Exhibition Confirmed! Disaster Trilogy IMAX Screening

A special exhibition featuring the major works of director Makoto Shinkai, who is loved by fans worldwide for his stunning use of light and beautiful colors, will be held in IMAX.

Starting from September 17, the [Makoto Shinkai Exhibition] at CGV in Korea will feature a total of 4 works in IMAX, including the trilogy known as 〈Your Name〉, 〈Weathering With You〉, and 〈Suzume's Locking Up〉, as well as 〈5 Centimeters Per Second X Special Video 'Memories of a Spring'〉. This exhibition, showcasing the delicate animation and color expression unique to director Makoto Shinkai, along with its lyrical storytelling, is a precious opportunity that fans should not miss, as it allows them to experience these representative works on the giant IMAX screen in a larger and more vivid format. In particular, 〈5 Centimeters Per Second X Special Video 'Memories of a Spring'〉 will include a special commentary video filmed at the locations that inspired Makoto Shinkai during the production of the animation, making it an even more special gift for fans.

Additionally, to celebrate this IMAX screening, a poster giveaway event featuring IMAX posters of each work will be held starting September 17, raising expectations even further. The posters will feature scenes representing each work with the IMAX logo added, increasing their collectible value.

Starting with the IMAX screening, the Makoto Shinkai Exhibition will also be held at Gwang-eum Cinema, a sound-specialized theater of Lotte Cinema, from the same date, September 17. Along with 〈5 Centimeters Per Second X Special Video 'Memories of a Spring'〉, 〈Weathering With You〉, 〈Your Name〉, and 〈Suzume's Locking Up〉, a total of 5 works, including 〈The Garden of Words〉, can be experienced with intricate and three-dimensional sound.

Meanwhile, from September 17, CGV and Lotte Cinema will also conduct regular screenings of the exhibition films, and details about on-site giveaway events for regular screenings will be announced later through each theater's website and Media Castle's official SNS.
