Billboard's 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST 'Golden' Hits No. 1 on Singles Chart; Stray Kids Album Reaches No. 1

The K-pop genre has achieved the remarkable feat of simultaneously topping both the main singles chart 'Hot 100' and the album chart 'Billboard 200' in the United States. According to the latest chart released on the 3rd (local time), the title track 'Golden' from the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has maintained its No. 1 position on the 'Hot 100' for the third consecutive week.

In the album category, the group Stray Kids debuted at No. 1 with their fourth studio album 'KARMA'. Stray Kids has set a record by placing a total of 7 albums consecutively at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, starting with 'ODDINARY' released in 2022. This is reported to be the first time in Billboard history, according to music industry insiders.

This week marks the first time in nearly five years that K-pop has swept both major Billboard charts since BTS achieved simultaneous No. 1s on both charts with their album 'BE' and title track 'Life Goes On' in December 2020.

In the singles chart, in addition to 'Golden', a total of 8 songs from the 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST made the list. Among them, 'Your Idol' and 'Soda Pop' ranked 4th and 5th respectively, while 'How It's Done' and 'What It Sounds Like' recorded 9th and 19th places respectively.

Additionally, the song 'Takedown' sung by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung placed 21st and 50th on the singles chart. The duet 'APT.' by BLACKPINK's Rosé and pop star Bruno Mars ranked 43rd, while BLACKPINK's song 'Run' recorded 78th place. TWICE's 'STRATEGY' is at 51st, and Stray Kids' new song 'CEREMONY' entered the chart for the first time this week at 52nd place.

The global girl group CAT'S EYE, under HYBE, recorded 63rd place with 'GABRIELA', and 'Gnarly' re-entered the chart at 98th place.

On the album chart, the 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' OST album maintained its 2nd place this week, continuing its tenth week of entry. CAT'S EYE's 'Beautiful Chaos' is at 45th place on the album chart, while TWICE's 'THIS IS FOR' recorded 91st place. BLACKPINK's Jennie's solo album 'Ruby' re-entered the chart this week at 153rd place.
