Rosé Achieves Two Awards Including 'Song of the Year' at MTV VMA

Rosé of the group BLACKPINK has achieved a historic feat at an American popular music awards ceremony. On the 7th (local time), at the '2025 MTV Video Music Awards' held at the UBS Arena in New York, Rosé won the 'Song of the Year' award for her collaboration track 'APT.' with Bruno Mars.

This marks the first instance of a K-Pop artist receiving a trophy in a major category at the MTV VMA. Rosé also took home the honor of being a two-time winner alongside BLACKPINK's 'Best Group' award. This is BLACKPINK's second win for 'Best Group' following their victory in 2023.

Dressed in a gold dress, Rosé took to the podium and began her speech by saying, "I can't believe it." She expressed her gratitude to her collaboration partner, saying, "First of all, I really want to thank Bruno (Mars) for believing in me and helping me out."

Rosé continued, "I dedicate this trophy to the 16-year-old me who chased my dreams," adding, "I am happy to receive this award as it is a moment of being rewarded for my efforts." During her acceptance speech, she expressed her affection for her producer and colleagues by saying in Korean, "Teddy oppa, I won this award. BLACKPINK members, I won this award. I am always grateful and love you all."

BLACKPINK's achievements did not stop there. Member Lisa added another trophy in the 'Best K-Pop' category, bringing BLACKPINK's total awards to three on the day. Lisa won in that category for her work on 'Born Again' with Doja Cat and Rae.

Lisa's 'Best K-Pop' win marks her second consecutive year and her third overall. Although Lisa did not attend the awards ceremony, she shared her thoughts through a pre-recorded video, stating, "I am truly honored to receive this award," and expressed her gratitude to Doja Cat and Rae for making this song special.
