Actor Park Jung-min will return to the stage after 8 years through the performance 'Life of Pi', which opens in December, as announced by the production company S&Co on the 8th.

The production company S&Co announced on the 8th that Park Jung-min has been cast as Pi in the performance 'Life of Pi'. It has been 8 years since Park Jung-min last appeared on the theater stage in 'Romeo and Juliet', which was performed in 2016-2017. Actor Park Kang-hyun, who has appeared in musicals such as 'Aladdin' and 'Hadestown', has also been double cast as Pi.

'Life of Pi' is based on the novel 「Life of Pi」 by Canadian author Yann Martel. The story depicts a boy named Pi, who drifts in the Pacific Ocean after a cargo ship accident, struggling for survival on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. The original novel won the Man Booker Prize for Yann Martel and was also adapted into a film of the same name directed by Ang Lee in 2012.

The theatrical version premiered in the West End of London in 2021. In this Korean performance, the roles of Pi's father will be played by Seo Hyun-cheol and Hwang Man-ik. Other cast members include Joo Ah, Song In-seong, Jin Sang-hyun, Jung Ho-jun, Lim Min-young, and Kim Ji-hye.

The performance will take place from December 2 to March 2 of next year at the Seoul GS Art Center. This performance is a Korean premiere and is attracting attention as it marks Park Jung-min's long-awaited return to the theater.
