In the Netflix series 〈You and Everything Else〉, actor Kim Go-eun, who plays the protagonist Ryu Eun-jung, opened up about the profound narrative of this work.

In an interview held on the 22nd in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Kim Go-eun stated, "〈You and Everything Else〉 does not simply handle emotions, but closely examines a person's inner self," adding, "It makes me reflect on my life and relationships, and feels like a work that comforts the heart."

Amidst the recent trend of flashy action or intense revenge narratives dominating online video service (OTT) platforms, 〈You and Everything Else〉 unfolds around a complex and subtle friendship that anyone can relate to. In the drama, Eun-jung and Sang-yeon (played by Park Ji-hyun) are shown in a relationship that intertwines from their teens to their 40s, where they both admire and resent each other.

Kim Go-eun described it as "a rare narrative recently," saying, "I think Eun-jung fell in love with Sang-yeon at first sight. No one has left as strong an impression and influence on Eun-jung's life as Sang-yeon has."

The work begins with a scene where Sang-yeon, now in her 40s, suddenly visits Eun-jung and asks her to accompany her to Switzerland, stating that she is facing assisted death. Kim Go-eun recalled the filming in Switzerland, saying, "Whenever Ji-hyun and I made eye contact, tears would flow, but during filming, I tried not to cry, so I always felt a tightness in my chest."

Regarding the heavy topic of assisted death, she expressed a cautious stance. Kim Go-eun said, "Since I have not personally experienced that pain, I cannot discuss support or opposition," but added, "However, if someone truly precious to me asks for companionship, I would want to willingly provide it."

Regarding this work, which unfolds over 15 episodes, Kim Go-eun remarked, "It is a work that leaves something within me as it deals with a difficult subject matter in a straightforward manner," and added, "I thought it was my responsibility to keep the center of this long narrative and lead it well to the end."

She also praised her fellow actors. Regarding Park Ji-hyun, she said, "I wondered who would portray Sang-yeon's fluctuating emotions, and I was overjoyed to hear that Ji-hyun was cast," adding, "She is a trustworthy actor, and there were many moments where we matched well on set."

About her junior from Korea National University of Arts, Kim Gun-woo (playing Kim Sang-hak), she mentioned, "I thought he was a very smart actor in 〈The Glory〉," noting, "His acting is detailed and has a sense of style."

Following her role in the film 〈Love in the Big City〉, Kim Go-eun, who has portrayed relatable characters in both works, plans to attempt a change in her next project. She will reunite with Jeon Do-yeon after 10 years since the 2015 film 〈Memories of the Sword〉 in the Netflix series 〈The Price of Confession〉, which centers around a murder case.

Kim Go-eun shared, "I shaved my head and did some things I wanted to do," adding, "I think this period of receiving good projects in succession will be something I remember later on."
