Released on October 1 (Wednesday) and surpassing 20,000 viewers in Korea, 〈It Was Just an Accident〉 continues its hot box office success in France, Belgium, Switzerland, and more. This week, it is also set to release in North America, and the world is expected to be enchanted by Jafar Panahi's new work, 〈It Was Just an Accident〉.

In France, on its first day, it attracted 50,071 viewers (including previews) across 300 screens, achieving the top score among new releases, and during its first week, it accumulated a total of 221,743 viewers, ranking second in the overall box office. This score is about ten times the first-week audience number of Jafar Panahi's previous work, 〈No Bears〉 (28,234 viewers), and significantly surpassed the first-week score of his highest-grossing film in France, 〈Taxi〉 (151,267 viewers). Additionally, this performance exceeds that of previous Palme d'Or winners at the Cannes Film Festival, 〈Anoura〉 and 〈Triangle of Sadness〉, raising expectations for future trends. In Belgium, it ranked fifth in the overall box office during its first week, attracting 12,597 viewers across 55 screens, while in Switzerland, it recorded 4,391 viewers over the first weekend, securing second place in the local box office.

〈It Was Just an Accident〉 is a revenge drama that begins when 'Vahid', who returned to an ordinary life, discovers the man who led him to hell by some sound. Selected for the competition section of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, it has received rave reviews from international media and critics, being hailed as "Jafar Panahi's best work" and "a new world opened by Jafar Panahi", and won the prestigious Palme d'Or. With this, Jafar Panahi has achieved the 'Triple Crown' record of winning the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, and the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Only four directors in film history have achieved this record, and Jafar Panahi is the only one among currently active directors.

The masterpiece of Jafar Panahi, 〈It Was Just an Accident〉, which won the Palme d'Or at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, is currently being screened nationwide in theaters.
