KBS2 'Superman Returns' has undergone a major MC overhaul. With the fall lineup change, Lee Yi-kyung and Lalal have been selected as new MCs, signaling a fresh change.
'Superman Returns' (hereafter referred to as 'Superman') has been loved as a national parenting variety show for 13 years since its first broadcast in 2013. It was also recognized for its social value by receiving the Presidential Award at the 14th 'Population Day' ceremony last July.
A notable point in this overhaul is that Lee Yi-kyung has been selected as the first unmarried MC in the program's history. Until now, the MCs of 'Superman' have been married individuals or those with parenting experience. Lee Yi-kyung's joining is expected to bring a new perspective and vitality to the program.
Lalal, who has been selected as an MC alongside Lee Yi-kyung, is also a rising star in the broadcasting industry. The two are expected to view the parenting scene with a youthful sensibility and fresh perspective.
With this overhaul, the existing MCs Choi Ji-woo and Park Soo-hong have both departed. Choi Ji-woo has been loved by viewers for her warm hosting over a long period with 'Superman.' Park Soo-hong also showcased relatable hosting based on his own parenting experience.
The production team stated, "With the new MC lineup, we will deliver even more diverse parenting stories," and added, "We plan to pursue fresh changes while maintaining the identity of the program that has been loved for 13 years."
