An epic musical film is landing back in Korean theaters ahead of its sequel release.
The film 〈Wicked〉 is based on the novel and musical of the same name, revealing the hidden story of the world of 'The Wizard of Oz'. It captures the friendship and unintended separation of the wicked West Witch Elphaba and the good South Witch Glinda with grand visuals and explosive numbers.
〈Wicked〉 was produced as a two-part film in line with the two-act structure of the musical from the beginning. Before the sequel 〈Wicked: For Good〉 is released on November 19, there is an opportunity to review it again in theaters. 〈Wicked〉 will be re-released on November 5, with ticket prices set at 10,000 won, allowing both first-time viewers and returning viewers to experience the world of Wicked without burden. Screenings are expected to continue until November 18.
〈Wicked〉 was released in Korea on November 20, 2024. At that time, both the original version and a dubbed version featuring musical actors such as Park Hye-na, Jeong Seon-a, and Ko Eun-sung were screened, and it has been announced that the same cast will also provide the dubbed version for the upcoming 〈Wicked: For Good〉.
