Cannes Film Festival Award Winner 'Sound of Falling' to Premiere in Korea on December 17

This year, the film 〈Sound of Falling〉, which won the Jury Prize at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, has confirmed its release in Korea on December 17 (Wednesday) and has unveiled two heart-pounding first posters. 〈Sound of Falling〉 is a film that captures the lives of four girls living in the same house across different eras, whose lives are connected through the centuries, gradually awakening their voices from silence.

Director Marsha Silinski, who directed and wrote 〈Sound of Falling〉, was nominated for the Best First Feature Award at the Berlin International Film Festival with her debut feature 〈Dark Blue Girl〉 in 2017, and began to gain attention by winning eight awards at various film festivals. With her second feature 〈Sound of Falling〉, completed after eight years, she made her debut in the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival. Opening the competition section of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, 〈Sound of Falling〉 left a strong impression and unusually sparked heated discussions from the beginning, recording a score of 2.8 (out of 4) on Screen Daily, ranking second after 〈It Was Just an Accident〉, and was mentioned as a major contender for the Palme d'Or until the end of the festival.
