First Look at 'The Remarried Empress' Stills... Perfect Visuals of Actors Immersed in the Romance Fantasy World

The Korean-style romance fantasy (romance fantasy) that has recorded a global cumulative view count of 2.6 billion, 'The Remarried Empress', is being produced as a drama series and is confirmed for exclusive release on Disney+ in the second half of 2026.

On the 13th, Disney+ unveiled the main stills and vivid interviews of the cast of the original series 'The Remarried Empress' for the first time at the 'Disney+ Original Preview 2025' event held at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Conference Center, raising the expectations of fans worldwide to a peak.

Golden Lineup, Perfectly Immersed in the Romance Fantasy World

'The Remarried Empress' is based on the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name. The perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, Navier, receives a shocking divorce notice from Emperor Sovieshu, who has fallen for the runaway slave, Rashta, and instead of accepting it, demands a remarriage with Prince Heinri of the Western Kingdom, unfolding a grand romance revenge drama.

The released stills feature the main actors Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young, showcasing visuals that perfectly immerse them in their original characters.

• Navier Ellie Trovi (Shin Min-a): The empress of the Eastern Empire, a perfect figure with intelligence and beauty. She is devastated by Emperor Sovieshu's betrayal and divorce notice but carves out her destiny with the bold choice of remarriage to the prince of the Western Kingdom.

• Sovieshu Trovi (Ju Ji-hoon): The emperor of the Eastern Empire with absolute power. He has been with Navier since childhood but becomes infatuated with the runaway slave Rashta, causing conflict with his impulsive choices.

• Heinri Alles Lazlo (Lee Jong-suk): The prince of the Western Kingdom and the first heir who approaches the Eastern Empire while hiding secrets. He gradually becomes infatuated with Navier and becomes her new ally.

• Rashta Isku (Lee Se-young): A former runaway slave who captures Emperor Sovieshu's heart, threatening the position of the empress. A multi-dimensional character who gradually nurtures desires behind a pure smile.

Expectations of the Leading Actors and a Solid Combination of the Production Team

On the 13th, the leading actors Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, and Lee Se-young attended the event in Hong Kong, expressing their deep affection and expectations for the work. (Lee Jong-suk was absent due to scheduling conflicts.)

Shin Min-a stated, "Since the original work is so beloved, I felt both pressure and excitement," and added, "This is my first time in a palace setting, so it was unfamiliar at first, but please look forward to the beautiful scenes that will be brought to life." Ju Ji-hoon expressed, "I was curious about how the webtoon, which has been loved worldwide, would be realized, and I am happy and feel a sense of responsibility to be part of that vast world." Lee Se-young shared, "I was happy to play the new character Rashta, and it was interesting to portray a character with desires," showing confidence in her character.

Meanwhile, the supporting lineup is also glamorous. Lee Bong-ryeon plays Navier's maid Eliza, Choi Dae-hoon plays Heinri's secretary McKenna, and Park Ho-san and Jung Young-joo take on the roles of Roteshu and Albany, respectively, adding weight to the drama. Notably, Lee Joon-hyuk plays Heinri's brother, the former king Warton III, and Kang Han-na makes a special appearance as the empress of the Western Kingdom, Krista, reuniting after about 5-6 years since the 2019 drama, which is also highly anticipated.

The direction is led by Director Jo Soo-won, who has shown outstanding capabilities in the romance genre with fantasy elements in works like 'I Can Hear Your Voice', 'Pinocchio', and 'Thirty But Seventeen', and the script is written by Ye Ji-na and Hyun Chung-yeol. Director Jo Soo-won is collaborating with Lee Jong-suk for the third time, hinting at another successful combination.

Production is handled by Studio N, which has presented Netflix series like 'Severe Trauma Center', aiming to realize the vast scale and mise-en-scène of the original work with high quality.

Disney+ stated, "The story that presents a new standard for K-romance fantasy, where love thought to be over begins anew, will be exclusively available on Disney+," announcing that 'The Remarried Empress' is set for exclusive release in the second half of 2026. Filming for 'The Remarried Empress' began in May and is expected to conclude in November.
