The script reading scene released on November 18 caught attention. First, Choi Soo-young passionately portrayed the star lawyer ‘Maeng Se-na’ who must prove the innocence of her ‘favorite’ Dora Ik. In the drama, ‘Maeng Se-na’ is a character who takes on only the criminal cases that others avoid, earning the title of ‘lawyer for villains’, while secretly being a passionate fan of the popular band ‘Gold Boys’. Choi Soo-young vividly depicted the diverse aspects of a sharp ‘workaholic’ lawyer and a devoted 11-year ‘fan’.
Kim Jae-young’s transformation into ‘Dora Ik’, who fell from the peak of popularity as the vocalist of the band ‘Gold Boys’ to a murder suspect, also drew attention. With ‘idol-level’ skills and personality, Dora Ik hides darkness behind his glamour. Kim Jae-young dynamically portrayed the transformation of ‘Dora Ik’, who throws off his mask and becomes ‘Doll Eye’ amidst an unexpected murder case, raising expectations for a career-defining character.
The character lineup that enhances the genre's fun cannot be overlooked. Jung Jae-gwang showcased his presence as ‘Gwak Byeong-kyun’, a cold-blooded prosecutor and the only descendant of a prestigious legal family. Having a bad history with Maeng Se-na during school days, he fiercely confronts her over the ‘Dora Ik’ case. Choi Hee-jin plays ‘Hong Hye-joo’, the second daughter of a chaebol family who has everything but what she truly desires, adding dramatic tension. Kim Hyun-jin transformed into ‘Park Chung-jae’, Maeng Se-na’s reliable ally and a private investigator, adding a delightful performance.
The production team of ‘Idol Eye’ stated, “The synergy of the actors, from the truth-seeking that oscillates between fan sentiment and suspicion to the thrilling romance, exceeds expectations,” adding, “The character play that will be completed with the actors’ unique transformations is also something to look forward to.”
