So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho 'Mr. Kim' Confirmed for SBS Broadcast in 2026!

So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, and Yoon Kyung-ho will star in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 〈Mr. Kim〉 set to air in 2026, as ‘Strong. Pure. Real Dads’, presenting a ‘life experience blockbuster’ that will turn the world upside down.

The SBS new Friday-Saturday drama 〈Mr. Kim〉, scheduled to air in 2026, tells the story of Mr. Kim, an ordinary father and small-town citizen, who reveals a secret that must never be known to find his beloved daughter and risks everything to save her.

〈Mr. Kim〉 is an adaptation of the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, with the original work being a spin-off that integrates the worlds of 〈Appearance-Centric〉, 〈Self-Taught Fighting〉, and 〈Life or Death〉. The script is written by writer Nam Dae-jung, who has shown fantastic character play through works like 〈Great Wish〉, 〈30 Days〉, and 〈First Ride〉, while directors Lee Seung-young, known for his excellent emotional direction in 〈Wonderful World〉, 〈Tracer 1〉, and 〈Voice 2〉, and Lee So-eun, who will infuse fresh direction, will take the helm, drawing significant attention.

So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, and Yoon Kyung-ho are set to announce the birth of a ‘new sensation dad universe’ filled with spectacular action, delightful bromance, and deep paternal love through 〈Mr. Kim〉. So Ji-sub transforms into Mr. Kim, a father of Min-ji, who works as an ordinary employee at a small savings bank but is actually a former North Korean operative. The character Mr. Kim, played by So Ji-sub, is a top priority on North Korea's wanted list and is a ticking time bomb whose existence must remain unknown in South Korea. So Ji-sub, who will convey both the essence of action and heartfelt paternal love, is set to surprise viewers with an unprecedented ‘overwhelming paternal love of So Gan-ji’ as he delivers a life-changing performance.

Choi Dae-hoon, who has risen to prominence as ‘Uncle Hak’ in 〈I Was Totally Deceived〉, attempts a bold transformation as Seong Han-soo, a taekwondo gold medalist and father. Seong Han-soo, played by Choi Dae-hoon, is a character whose specialty is a 1440-degree kick, and after retiring, he runs a taekwondo studio in the neighborhood to hide his past as a secret agent. Expectations rise as Choi Dae-hoon appears as the ‘strong pure real’ character Seong Han-soo, potentially creating memorable scenes that will stick in viewers' minds.

Yoon Kyung-ho, who is enjoying a peak in his career with diverse roles, will appear as Park Jin-cheol, Da-bin's father, radiating the ‘powerful energy of a reliable actor’. Park Jin-cheol, who Yoon Kyung-ho will transform into, was a battlefield god who thrived in a war where even the state could not control, but he is most proud to be called Da-bin's dad, the ‘ultimate dad of ultimate dads’. With a character that possesses both friendliness and charisma, Yoon Kyung-ho's dynamic performance is expected to elevate the drama's emotional temperature.
