'Zootopia 2' Dominates Box Office in Opening Weekend

Attracting 300,000 viewers on opening day, a 9-fold increase compared to the previous film... Maintaining an overwhelming 1st place with a 65% reservation rate

Disney Animation 〈Zootopia 2〉 has taken over the domestic box office in its opening weekend, showing overwhelming box office success.

According to the integrated ticket sales network on the 28th, 〈Zootopia 2〉 attracted over 172,000 viewers the previous day, recording a revenue share of 68.6% and securing 1st place.

On its opening day, the 26th, over 309,000 people visited theaters, a figure about 9 times higher than the first day's audience of over 35,000 for the previous film 〈Zootopia〉. The sequel, returning after 9 years since the original's release in 2016, tells the story of fox Nick becoming a police officer and working alongside rabbit Judy.

In 2nd place at the box office is 〈Now You See Me 3〉, which deals with a magic con team, attracting over 22,000 viewers the previous day. The musical adaptation film 〈Wicked: For Good〉 came in 3rd with over 18,000 viewers, while director Lee Sang-il's 〈National Treasure〉 ranked 4th with over 6,000 viewers.

As of 9 AM on the 28th, 〈Zootopia 2〉 maintains an overwhelming 1st place in reservation rates with 65.4%, with over 437,000 reservations completed. In 2nd place is 〈Wicked: For Good〉 with about 48,000 reservations, and in 3rd place is director Ha Jung-woo's 〈The Neighbors Upstairs〉, which is set to be released on December 3rd with about 23,000 reservations.
