The LA Korean Cultural Center announced on the 3rd (local time) that 'The Black Label' has been selected as the company of the year for the 'Dari Awards', hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency. The 'Dari Awards' is a ceremony that awards the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism's prize to individuals and companies that have contributed to cultural and artistic exchanges between Korea and the United States and cooperation in the content industry since its establishment in 2005.
The Black Label was recognized for its contributions to expanding global music content collaborations, including participation in the OST production of the Netflix animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'. In particular, it has been evaluated for contributing to the expansion of the influence of Korean music in the North American market by linking Korean music-based IP with global music platforms.
This year's person is 'Barbara J. Zitwer', an international literary agent. She contributed to raising the international recognition of Korean literature by supporting the overseas publication of Han Kang's 'The Vegetarian' and Shin Kyung-sook's 'Please Look After Mom'.
The company awarded in the business partnership category is 'Landing International'. It has been evaluated for successfully establishing K-Beauty in the mainstream distribution network in the United States, laying the foundation for the global market entry of Korean cosmetics. The 20th anniversary awards ceremony of the Dari Awards will be held on the 4th at the LA Korea Center.
