2025 MAMA Awards, Returning to Hong Kong After 7 Years... 'K-Demon Hunters' Stage Will Be Unveiled!

The Mnet MAMA Awards(MAMA AWARDS) will be held in Hong Kong at the end of this month.

CJ ENM announced on the 11th that it will hold a press premiere event for the '2025 MAMA Awards' at its headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and that the awards ceremony will take place at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on the 28th-29th.

This will be the first time the MAMA Awards are held in Hong Kong in 7 years since the joint hosting with Korea and Japan in 2018. CJ ENM has continuously met with fans in Hong Kong from 2012 until 2018, when it held the MAMA Awards at the Hong Kong Convention Center. This time, it returns to a symbolic venue to celebrate Mnet's 30th anniversary.

Park Chan-wook, head of the convention division, expressed, "Hong Kong is the city where the MAMA Awards have been held the most and is easily accessible for K-pop fandom worldwide," and added, "We expect to create an iconic K-pop stage at Hong Kong's new landmark, Kai Tak Stadium."

This year's MAMA Awards concept is 'Here My Roar, Uh-huh', which incorporates the keyword 'Heung (興)', representing the energy of Korean joy.

In particular, the stage from the Netflix animation 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 that has sparked a global K-pop craze will be recreated at the MAMA Awards. K-pop artists will present a stage featuring the boy group 'Lion Boys' and the girl group 'Huntress' from the K-Demon Hunters.

PD Ma Doo-sik explained, "The collaboration between 〈K-Demon Hunters〉 and the MAMA Awards will showcase an original stage that transcends animation and reality." He added, "We will recreate the epic battle between Lion Boys and Huntress on stage, betting on 'Honmun.'"

The artists participating in this stage have not yet been announced.

In addition, a joint performance by members of boy groups such as BOYNEXTDOOR, Cortis, and TREASURE, as well as a collaboration stage featuring Seong Han-bin from ZEROBASEONE and Japanese dancer Kyoka, who appeared in 〈World of Street Woman Fighter〉, is scheduled.

Stray Kids will debut their upcoming album track 'Fresh Play', and Super Junior will present a special stage for their 20th anniversary. Additionally, the first stage of 'Alpha Drive One', selected through the recent 〈Boys 2 Planet〉, will also be showcased.

Over 20 teams, including G-Dragon, aespa, IVE, Stray Kids, NCT Wish, and Tomorrow X Together, will meet with local K-pop fans.

The hosts will be actors Park Bo-gum and Kim Hye-soo, who will share the duties for parts 1 and 2, while Hong Kong actress Michelle Yeoh (Yang Zi Qiong·楊紫瓊) will serve as the presenter. Park Bo-gum and Kim Hye-soo are expected to perform with the dance team 'Beomjeop' and Stray Kids member Felix.

Regarding the casting of actress Kim Hye-soo, PD Lee Young-joo stated, "I have wanted to cast Kim Hye-soo for quite some time," adding, "I saw that she decided to stop being the MC for the Blue Dragon Film Awards after 2023 and requested her. She liked the authenticity of music."

The MAMA Awards will be broadcast live through Mnet Plus.
