The film 〈I Can't Yet Say That Today the Sky is the Best〉 has attracted attention for capturing the landscapes of the Kansai region in Japan.
〈I Can't Yet Say That Today the Sky is the Best〉 is a film that depicts the process of youth who are afraid to reveal their true selves regaining their affection for the world, featuring locations throughout the Kansai region, including Osaka and Kyoto, which are also popular tourist destinations in Korea.
Director Akiko Ooku, who directed the film, harmoniously captures the representative attractions and everyday spaces of the Kansai region through large-scale location shoots, completing vibrant visuals. First, the first date scene of the main characters, played by Yumi Kawai and Riku Hagiwara, was filmed by renting an entire train of the Hankyu Railway in Japan, drawing attention with large-scale cooperation that adjusted train schedules to match the shooting time. Additionally, at the Kyoto Aquarium, an impressive scene is created where the true feelings of youth explosively emerge against the backdrop of a fantastic jellyfish dance, further heightening the film's emotional line. Furthermore, with the full cooperation of Kansai University, the beautiful campus in full bloom with cherry blossoms and the surrounding commercial area appear as major backgrounds in the film, capturing both the excitement of youth and the emotions of the season. Along with this, the diverse landscapes of the Kansai region, including bowling alleys, public baths, and kissaten (Japanese-style cafes), are expected to provide audiences with a special experience akin to watching a travelogue.
Starring Yumi Kawai, Riku Hagiwara, and Aoi Ito, 〈I Can't Yet Say That Today the Sky is the Best〉 will be released in Korea on November 26.
