Cha Seung-won to Host Korean Version of Global Hit Reality Show 'The Traitors'

Actor Cha Seung-won will be the host of the 'Mafia game'.

According to the American media Variety on December 2 (local time), global distributor All3Media International has confirmed the production of the Korean version of 〈The Traitors〉 (The Traitors) in collaboration with Korean production companies Louis Works Media and Something Special, and has selected actor Cha Seung-won as the host. Louis Works Media, which is participating in the production, has previously produced Netflix's 〈Physical: 100〉, Mnet's 〈Street Woman Fighter〉, and more.

The 'Mafia game' format 〈The Traitors〉 has been a huge success in the global entertainment market since it was first unveiled on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021. The show is a psychological mystery reality where participants are divided into 'Faithful' and 'Traitor' and deceive each other to find the traitor for a prize, and has been remade in over 30 countries across 6 continents, with broadcasting rights sold in over 50 countries.

This program has been recognized for its artistic quality by winning numerous prestigious awards, including the Emmy and BAFTA. In particular, the American version hosted by Alan Cumming won 5 Emmy Awards, and the British version attracted 15 million viewers during its broadcast on BBC, generating significant buzz.
