The girl group TWICE will hold a solo concert at the National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, in April next year, becoming the first overseas artist to do so. Their agency, JYP Entertainment, announced that TWICE will host additional performances for their sixth world tour 'THIS IS FOR' on April 25, 26, and 28, 2026, at the National Stadium in Tokyo.
The National Stadium in Tokyo is the main stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, boasting approximately 67,000 seats, making it one of Japan's top large-scale performance venues. TWICE plans to meet fans on a massive scale by fully opening the seating area 360 degrees, accommodating about 80,000 people per show and a total of 240,000 over three days. TWICE is the first overseas artist to hold a solo concert at this stadium, setting a new milestone in the Japanese performance industry.
This stage is an extension of TWICE's sixth world tour 'THIS IS FOR', coinciding with their 10th anniversary, and it marks the pinnacle of their tour history built in Japan. Last July, TWICE held a two-day solo concert at Nissan Stadium in Japan, attracting 140,000 spectators, making them the first K-pop girl group and the first overseas female artist to do so. They also proved their 'ticket power' by gathering a total of 400,000 fans during their recently concluded dome tour in Japan this September.
JYP Entertainment stated, "Entering the National Stadium in Tokyo is not only an expansion of scale but also a symbolic step for TWICE to take another leap as a top-tier girl group," adding, "TWICE will further enhance their global presence." TWICE also hinted at their meeting with fans through their official Japanese channel, stating, "We are preparing for the largest scale performance ever."
