A middle-aged Japanese woman attempted to illegally enter the residence of Jungkook, a member of the global K-pop group BTS, and is now under police investigation.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul officially announced on the 22nd that they have filed charges against a 50-year-old Japanese woman, referred to as A, for attempted home invasion, which was reported on the 16th. The charges also include violations of the Stalking Punishment Act at the request of the complainant.

A police official explained that A is currently not residing in the country, so the suspect has not yet been interrogated.

A is suspected of attempting to open the door lock of the single-family home where Jungkook resides in Yongsan-gu multiple times from the 12th to the 14th of last month. The related circumstances were confirmed through the security system installed in the house.

This is not the first incident of its kind. In August, a 40-year-old woman of Korean nationality illegally entered Jungkook's home parking lot and was sent to the prosecution in October for home invasion and violation of the Stalking Punishment Act. Additionally, a 30-year-old Chinese woman attempted home invasion but was only charged with an attempted offense and received a deferred prosecution disposition.
