The Netflix original series 〈Squid Game〉 has reaffirmed its status as a global content by winning its third trophy at the Critics' Choice Awards in the United States.

〈Squid Game〉 won the Best Foreign Language Series award at the 31st Critics' Choice Awards TV section held on the 4th (local time) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, beating out competitors such as 〈Acapulco〉 and 〈The Last Samurai Standing〉.

The Critics' Choice Association (CCA) is an esteemed organization composed of about 600 broadcasters, film critics, and journalists from the United States and Canada. The Critics' Choice Awards, held annually in early January, selects outstanding works and actors in both film and TV categories. However, in the TV section, only the titles of the works are announced without distinguishing seasons.

The first season of 〈Squid Game〉 won the Best Foreign Language Series award in 2022, making it the first Korean drama to achieve this. At that time, lead actor Lee Jung-jae made headlines by becoming the first Korean actor to win the Best Actor in a Drama Series award. Last year, it won the Best Foreign Language Series award again with Season 2.

Meanwhile, at this awards ceremony, director Park Chan-wook's film 〈No Other Choice〉 was nominated for Adapted Screenplay and Foreign Language Film, but failed to win the Foreign Language Film award. The trophy in that category went to 〈Secret Agent〉, and the results for the Adapted Screenplay category have not yet been announced.
