Last year, two highly anticipated Korean films will be released on Netflix in January. First, the film 〈Face〉, which contains director Yeon Sang-ho's unique sharp thematic consciousness, will be released on January 5. The film depicts the story of 'Im Young-kyu', a visually impaired craftsman who has become a master in the field of engraving, and his son 'Im Dong-hwan', who unravels the mystery of his mother's death that has been buried for 40 years. Despite being born unable to see anything, Im Young-kyu has become a craftsman who creates the most beautiful seals in the world, and a phone call comes from the police to him and his son Im Dong-hwan. It is reported that the skeletal remains of his wife and mother 'Jeong Young-hee', who went missing 40 years ago, have been found. Hearing that there is a possibility that his mother, whom he did not even know the face of, was murdered, Im Dong-hwan begins to trace his mother's death with PD 'Kim Soo-jin', who was filming a documentary about his father Im Young-kyu. In the process, he meets people who worked with his mother at a clothing factory in Cheonggyecheon 40 years ago, and confronts the hidden truth through their memories. Park Jung-min, who starred in the Netflix series 〈The 8 Show〉 and the film 〈Harbin〉, plays the young Im Young-kyu and his son Im Dong-hwan, showcasing a dual role. Additionally, Kwon Hae-hyo, who appeared in the Netflix series 〈Parasitic Beasts: The Gray〉 and 〈D.P.〉 Season 2, currently plays the role of Im Young-kyu, while Shin Hyun-bin, Han Ji-hyun, and Lim Sung-jae play Jeong Young-hee, Kim Soo-jin, and 'Baek Joo-sang', respectively, adding to the mystery of the film.

Park Chan-wook's 〈Can't Help It〉, which is a contender in the competition section of the Venice International Film Festival, will be released on Netflix on January 29. This is Park Chan-wook's new work, presented three years after 〈Decision to Leave〉, which has proven its artistic value by surpassing the break-even point with overseas pre-sales revenue in over 200 countries. The film depicts the story of a laid-off office worker, Man-soo (played by Lee Byung-hun), who embarks on his own war to protect his family while preparing for re-employment. Upon its domestic release, it recorded an audience of 2.94 million, and Son Ye-jin, who played the role of Lee Byung-hun's wife, won the Best Actress award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards for this work. Additionally, it has been nominated as a preliminary candidate for the International Feature Film category at the Academy Awards and has received nominations in three categories at the Golden Globe Awards, drawing attention to the results.
