The master Sam Raimi, who proved his popularity with 'Spider-Man' and Marvel superhero movies, makes a grand return to his roots in 'gory horror'. This time, it comes with an R rating (restricted) after 26 years.
According to 20th Century Studios on the 20th (Korean time), Sam Raimi's new horror thriller 'Send Help' is confirmed to be released in North America on January 30.
◆ Unsealing '19+ Rating' After 26 Years
The reason this film is gaining attention is clear. It is the first R-rated film directed by Sam Raimi in 26 years since 'The Gift' in 2000. Having focused on PG-13 rated blockbusters like the 'Spider-Man' trilogy, 'Oz the Great and Powerful', and 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness', he is now set to showcase "intense bloody violence" in this work. The production team described the film as "a delightfully insane fable where morally bankrupt characters trample each other."

◆ 'Misery'-level Survival Game on a Deserted Island
The film tells the story of two coworkers stranded on a deserted island due to a plane crash. The leads are Rachel McAdams, who transforms from the queen of romantic comedies to the queen of thrillers, and Dylan O'Brien from 'The Maze Runner'. This is not just a simple survival film. Based on a script written by the screenwriters of the 'Friday the 13th' remake, the two protagonists are pushed into extreme situations where they torture each other for survival, covered in liquids and blood. Director Raimi expressed confidence, calling it a "really outrageous movie."
◆ Bruce Campbell and the Fans' Cheers
The trailer also captures the appearance of Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi's eternal persona, thrilling 'Evil Dead' fans. Local fans are unable to hide their excitement, saying, "Rachel McAdams has finally met a proper thriller after 20 years since Wes Craven's 'Red Eye'."
