Hollywood's "Mission Impossible" man Tom Cruise has now picked up a camera in the midst of a vast space war. Not as an actor, but as a cinematographer.
According to the New York Times (NYT) on the 26th (Korean time), Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance on the set of the film 'Star Wars: Starfighter' being filmed in the UK last November.
◆ Tom Cruise Stuck in the Mud
Director Shawn Levy recalled in an interview, "At that time, we were preparing for a lightsaber duel scene taking place in the water. Since Tom was visiting, I jokingly told him to grab the camera, and he took it very seriously."
Levy added, "Tom Cruise, regardless of his expensive shoes getting wet in the mud and pond water, focused on framing the perfect shot while stuck up to his ankles with a digital camera. He looked like a professional cameraman. When audiences watch the movie, they will know, 'Ah, this scene was shot by Tom.'"

◆ Ryan Gosling X Shawn Levy's New Star Wars
'Star Wars: Starfighter' is a completely new independent story separate from the existing Skywalker saga. Set five years after the events of 'The Rise of Skywalker', Ryan Gosling stars, drawing attention. Additionally, acclaimed actors such as Amy Adams, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth have joined the cast, with the screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper of 'Banshee'.
Having completed filming last December, the movie is set to be released in theaters worldwide in May 2027 after post-production. Following Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise's contribution to this project raises expectations for a new revival of the Star Wars franchise.
