America's "national little sister" turned "queen of talk shows" Kelly Clarkson is putting down the microphone. After the tragic death of her ex-husband, she chose life as a mother of two over broadcasting.
According to NBCUniversal and foreign media on the 3rd (Korean time), Kelly Clarkson announced in an official statement on the 2nd that "the current Season 7 will be the end of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'."
◆ "The Kids Need Their Mom"
The decisive background for this decision lies in her family situation. Clarkson's ex-husband and the father of her two children (River Rose and Remy), Brandon Blackstock, passed away at the age of 48 in August 2025 after a three-year battle with cancer. Clarkson stated, "I felt it was right to step away from the pressure of the daily show and prioritize my children," expressing her intention to focus on family healing during the remaining time.
◆ Leaving Behind the 'Kellyoke' Legend
Launched in 2019, this show created a phenomenon with Clarkson's explosive vocal talent, particularly through the 'Kellyoke' segment, which garnered 2 billion views on social media. Over the past seven years, it has swept 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, receiving praise for both artistic quality and popularity. NBCUniversal stated, "She has brought joy to viewers over the past seven years," supporting her decision with regret.
The final episode of the show is scheduled to air in Fall 2026, and Clarkson plans to focus on her primary career as a singer and touring afterward.
