A precious opportunity arises to meet the works of legendary filmmaker Victor Erice on the screen once again. CGV Art House will host the 'Victor Erice Special Exhibition' starting February 11, featuring <The Spirit of the Beehive>, <The South>, and <Close Your Eyes>.
◆Only 4 Films in 50 Years, A Recluse's Comfort
Victor Erice is a representative 'sparse filmmaker' who has released only 4 feature films over the span of 50 years. This special exhibition will showcase all of his feature films except for the documentary <The Quince Tree Sun>. <The Spirit of the Beehive>, which depicts the oppressive atmosphere right after the Spanish Civil War through the eyes of a 6-year-old girl, and <Close Your Eyes>, which was released domestically in 2023 and resonated quietly yet powerfully, will greet the audience.
◆Unattainable Longing, A Journey Towards 'The South'
The highlight of this special exhibition is the official release of <The South> in Korea after 40 years since its production. The story follows a girl named Estrella, who grew up in a remote house in northern Spain, as she confronts the secret of her father, who possesses a mysterious ability to find water veins, and yearns for the unknown world of 'The South'. <The South> will provide a gift-like experience for film enthusiasts and will officially release on February 18 after the special exhibition.
