‘GOAT’ Stephen Curry shared his thoughts on joining 〈GOAT: The Legend〉.
The animated 〈GOAT: The Legend〉 is a work that follows how a small animal—goat “Will”—throws himself into a gigantic sports league dominated by huge animals in order to fight through tough challenges. It is the new release from Sony Pictures Animation, which produced the 〈K-pop Demon Hunters〉 and the “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” series. In particular, this time Curry has drawn attention for joining the project as both producer and voice actor, perfectly matching the theme of basketball.
In this film, Stephen Curry poured his own experience into his role, saying, “I had also been underestimated and wasn’t getting noticed. But through that process, I found confidence.” He used that to make the protagonist Will’s story even more solid. He also worked hard to add realism by personally monitoring and providing input on the many movements shown in the work. By raising the level of detail in the basketball depictions throughout the film, he also emphasized that it’s a universal story that anyone can enjoy: “Even if you don’t know basketball, you can still enjoy it. The flashy action is just fun entertainment—and the story inside it is far bigger than the frame of sports.”
〈GOAT: The Legend〉, featuring Stephen Curry, opens in Korea on April 17.
