Box-office star Park Ji-hoon returns with 〈Becoming a Legend as a Cook〉.
Premiering first in Korea and worldwide on Monday, May 11, at 8:50 PM, the TVING Original 〈Becoming a Legend as a Cook〉 is a military cookbang fantasy drama in which Private First Class Kang Seong-jae—armed with a chef’s knife instead of a gun and an apron instead of a cartridge belt—emerges as the “legendary cook.” Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name 〈Becoming a Legend as a Cook〉(written/illustrated by Jae-robin and Jin-soo Lee), it stars Park Ji-hoon, who rose to stardom with the film 〈The Man Who Lives with the King〉, drawing even more attention with his next project. Meanwhile, a teaser poster featuring Park Ji-hoon in a cooking uniform after shedding his royal robe has been unveiled for the first time, sparking curiosity.
In the poster, alongside the line “A chef’s knife instead of a gun! An apron instead of a cartridge belt!”, Kang Seong-jae (played by Park Ji-hoon) is shown standing confidently in the kitchen—never on the parade ground. Despite the badge that calls him a “problem case soldier,” Kang Seong-jae’s steady gaze while tossing a wok over the burner radiates hard-earned confidence. In particular, attention is drawn to a quest window that appears around Kang Seong-jae. With the message “Welcome, my hero! From now on, you’ll begin the Cook’s Path,” it signals the start of “Cook Kang Seong-jae.” Anticipation is high for the birth of a legendary cook who will captivate everyone in the unit as viewers wonder what the quest window really is—giving off the feel of a game. The TVING Original 〈Becoming a Legend as a Cook〉 will premiere for the first time on TVING and tvN on Monday, May 11, at 8:50 PM.
