A dazzling return by the UK’s brilliant experimenter, Geordie Greep

Returning to the Korean stage is Geordie Greep, the former frontman of the experimental rock band “Black Midi” representing the UK, and the artist building a uniquely original musical world.

On the 6th, the event organizer Mania officially announced that a solo Korea performance by him will be held on July 28 at “Hyundai Card Understage” in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. This marks an ultra-rapid comeback just seven months after he successfully made his first Korea visit as a solo artist last December.

Geordie Greep was nominated for the “Mercury Prize,” one of the UK’s most prestigious music awards, driving overwhelming praise from critics worldwide. Since “Black Midi” announced an indefinite halt to activities in 2024, he has been charting a successful path as a solo artist, pushing his musical experiments even further forward.

This Korea performance is designed to go beyond a simple solo set, featuring a “seven-piece full band” lineup with performers including a saxophonist, percussionist, and keyboardist joining in. This is expected to deliver a far denser, richer live sound than before. In particular, he plans to unveil his “unreleased new song” currently in the works for the first time on a live stage, bringing domestic music fans’ expectations to the highest peak.
