Some of the greatest hits of ‘the King of Pop,’ Michael Jackson are once again sweeping the UK Official Charts. Spurred by the release of the biopic film ‘Michael,’ which tells the story of his life, Jackson’s signature songs surged into the upper ranks of the chart, sparking a powerful wave of momentum.

According to the UK Official Charts released on the 15th (local time), Michael Jackson (including the Jackson Five) pulled off an impressive feat this week by placing four singles and five albums simultaneously on the ‘Top 100’ chart.

In particular, on the Official Singles Chart, ‘Billie Jean’ climbed one spot higher than the previous week to take No. 3, while ‘Beat It’ jumped five places to land at No. 5. With ‘Billie Jean’ returning to the top 5 for the first time in 43 years last week, ‘Beat It’ also succeeded in entering the top 5 for the first time in 43 years since its release in 1983.

Alongside that, ‘Human Nature’ rose to No. 6, and ‘I Want You Back,’ a standout hit from the Jackson Five era, also made the chart at No. 27.

The performance on the album chart has been just as notable. Best album ‘The Essential (THE ESSENTIAL)’ secured No. 1 for the second consecutive week, setting a record of nine total weeks at the top. Celebrated classics, ‘Thriller’ and ‘Bad (BAD),’ placed at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, and a total of five albums—including ‘Off The Wall’ (No. 39) and ‘Dangerous’ (No. 74)—entered the Top 100.

Meanwhile, Korean artists continued to make waves. BTS’s fifth EP ‘ARIRANG’ ranked No. 26 on the album chart, and the title track ‘SWIM’ landed at No. 51 on the singles chart, succeeding in staying on the chart for eight consecutive weeks. In addition, the OST ‘Golden’ from the film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ placed at No. 41, while rookie girl group Cats Eye’s ‘PINKY UP’ and ‘TOUCH’ recorded No. 50 and No. 98, respectively.
