[First Look Response]
〈The Mandalorian〉 on the big screen! The film 〈The Mandalorian and Grogu〉 opens May 27, and it’s a blockbuster adventure that captures the great journey of the galaxy’s ultimate duo—bounty hunter “Din Djarin” (Pedro Pascal) and the deadly cute “Grogu”—as they set out on a mission meant to change their fate. Cineplay’s reporter Seong-chan-eol (Sung-chan-eol) shares their impressions after seeing the film in advance at a media screening.
Seong-chan-eol / ★★★★ / “Mom, when I grow up, I want to be a Mandalorian too!”
〈The Mandalorian〉 is back for the same reason it’s loved. Din Djarin is still cold yet somehow warm, and Grogu is endlessly adorable. The visual concept that spans the 〈Star Wars〉 universe is so thoroughly integrated that just watching the screen alone is enough to make you happy. The wit woven into a bleak world, and the action and chase scenes that play out across land, sea, and air—are exhilarating. And I mean it: “There’s emotion in 〈Star Wars〉 from Jon Favreau.” The unexpectedly small-scale main plot is a bit disappointing, though.
