From the Thames to the London Eye… A red wave that engulfs the heart of Britain
Global pop icon 'BTS' is coloring the heart of London, England, with a striking red glow. Big Hit Music said it will launch an offline project, 'BTS The City Arirang', that turns the city into a massive festival ground to mark 'Arirang', its world tour show scheduled for next month on the 6th and 7th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The centerpiece of this project is without question the 'Landmark Lighting' unveiling on the 6th. 'London Eye', one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks, will be lit in an alluring red—the signature color of this tour—expected to overwhelm the Thames River area. In addition, a large boat carrying a massive 'Arirang' logo sculpture will cruise over the Thames, ratcheting up festival fever across London to its peak.
A 'media art' exhibition that maximizes visual catharsis is also drawing intense attention from the global fan base. From next month’s 8th to the 10th, at 'OuterNet', a multi-purpose cultural space located in central London, a special exhibition using an ultra-large digital LED canvas will be held. The overwhelming visuals that combine advanced technology with the artists’ universe will deliver viewers with a level of synesthetic immersion unlike anything else.
Beyond that, a variety of hands-on content is in place, including a 'Eight-Stamp Rally' that sends participants on a pilgrimage to major landmarks around downtown London to complete missions. The entertainment built around a new paradigm—consuming and experiencing the entire city rather than simply watching performances—looks set to be fully realized in London, England.
