SBS will launch a new dating reality show featuring young adults in their 20s and 30s who have lived through life-threatening illnesses.
SBS announced that its new variety program 〈My Remaining Love〉 (directed by Lee Eun-sol) will premiere on Monday, Aug. 3, at 10 p.m. 〈My Remaining Love〉 follows contestants in their 20s and 30s who were once told they had limited time to live or had come to the brink of death as they search for true love. The show starts with the question, "If I had little time left, who would I love?" The show uses a matching system in which cast members exchange "time" each night.
The studio hosts will be actor Lee Se-young, singer Jung Yong-hwa, Seventeen's Dokyeom and Choi Ye-na. Lee Se-young, hosting a dating show for the first time since her debut, became deeply invested in the contestants' stories, while Jung Yong-hwa will track the subtle romantic tension among the cast. Seventeen's Dokyeom will add a warm, empathetic perspective, and Choi Ye-na, who overcame childhood cancer, is set to bring a distinctive bond with the participants based on that experience. The lineup has raised expectations for the show.
The series is directed by producer Lee Eun-sol, who previously received attention for the variety show 〈Shamans' Romance〉, centered on the love lives of shamans. Lee Eun-sol said, "I wanted to faithfully and sincerely capture how passionately and brilliantly young people who know life's limits love during the time they are given," and she hinted at unexpected stories of fate and connection that even the production team did not expect. SBS's 〈My Remaining Love〉, which follows the earnest and emotionally charged romances of young adults, will premiere on Monday, Aug. 3, at 10 p.m.
