The Hallyu star 'Ji Chang-wook' is ramping up his global push by landing the lead role in his first-ever joint Korea-Japan drama since his debut. Comprehensive content company 'CJ ENM' announced on the 30th that the romantic blockbuster 'Mary Berry Love,' in which 'Ji Chang-wook' from Korea and Japan’s leading actress 'Imada Mio' will share the screen, will be released simultaneously worldwide this October through the global OTT 'Disney+' and Japan’s 'Nippon TV'.

The project is drawing exceptional attention in the industry because it marks the first joint production effort between the two countries’ representative broadcasters—'CJ ENM' and 'Nippon TV'—both of which are content powerhouses. The drama is set on the picturesque Charms Island, which boasts exceptional natural scenery. It captures with careful direction the process by which a fated love takes shape, starting from an unexpected encounter between a Korean genius space planner who fled to the island after losing everything and a Japanese woman farmer who quietly tends her strawberry fields.

In the drama, 'Ji Chang-wook' plays Yoo Bin Yi, a space planner who was on a steady climb before falling into ruin overnight, delivering a layered emotional storyline. Opposite him, 'Imada Mio' takes on Karin, a bold farmer who ties herself to Yoo Bin Yi and anchors the center of the story. In addition, the next-generation star 'Nam Yoon-su' is set to join as Park Gu-nam, an island part-time worker, adding energy and serving as the show’s reliable standout.
