Charlize Theron shared what she said is the charm of her visit to South Korea, and offered her thanks.

On Aug. 3, director Christopher Nolan, the star of the film 〈Odyssey〉, producer Emma Thomas, and lead actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theron attended a press event in South Korea at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno District, Seoul. That day, Charlize Theron also opened up about her personal experience of visiting Korea, expressing her love for the country without holding back.

Charlize Theron said, “A few months ago, I came to Korea with my 10-year-old daughter to have some fun. At the time, we walked all day long. If we were to come like this with a film, it would be hard because many people would know that we are coming.” She added, “Instead, when we come with a film like this, we get a lot of warm hospitality. I want to tell you that I really appreciate your welcome,” sharing her experience of visiting Korea both as an actor and as an individual.

She also said, “I have told a friend that as soon as I arrive in Korea, the energy changes. Seoul is a place with a rich culture. You can feel it starting from the airport. It seems similar, but it is different. That’s why I’m happy to be here in Korea.” She said that in response to the host’s comment, “Today there’s a glow,” and added, “I had skin care after arriving. If there’s a glow, it’s because of Korea,” drawing laughter.

Charlize Theron plays Calypso in 〈Odyssey〉, which opens Aug. 5, where she stars alongside Matt Damon.
