Putting his stage charisma on pause… A new persona to prove his range in a fantasy romance
Minhee, a member of the group ‘CRAVITY’, is embarking on his first acting challenge since debut. He was tapped as the lead for the short-form drama ‘Sleeping Beauty and the Dreaming Devil’, produced by Resin Entertainment, drawing attention not only from global K-pop fandom but also from drama viewers.
Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, the work depicts miracles that bloom amid despair. It is an engrossing ‘fantasy romance’ that unfolds as a desperate wish left by a man who devotedly cared for his partner in a coma—toward a shooting star that cuts across the night sky—intersects with an unidentified devil that appears before him.
In the series, Minhee plays Woo-min, the protagonist standing at the line between loss and resignation after giving up hope in life. Withdrawing the explosive energy he unleashed on stage for a moment, he is expected to lead the story’s center with deep, nuanced acting. Rookie actor Jo Yoon has been cast as Hana, the devil who appears in front of him and will throw the narrative into turmoil, signaling fresh chemistry on screen.
The megaphone was held by director Kim Ji-hye, who proved her distinctive, sense-driven directing style with the film ‘Sunkiss Family’. With the combination of a solid original work, emotional visuals, and a fresh casting lineup, the project will meet viewers around the world through the short-drama platform ‘Resin Snack’.
