Actors ’Byun Yohan’ and ’Ahn Jae-hong’ are set to signal a powerful on-screen chemistry in a mystery thriller ’Sonless Day’ that whips up fear for just 24 hours. Production company CGV Pictures said Tuesday that ’Sonless Day’, which tracks strange incidents that unfold ahead of a new home move, successfully wrapped all filming on the 11th (principal photography wrap-up).

’Sonless Day’ spotlights a harrowing day as Ujin, the husband, confronts famous shaman Tae-ju to resolve an unidentified strange sign that has appeared on his wife Hee-yeon, just as the couple prepares to relocate to a strange new home.

Leading the film’s core is ’Byun Yohan’, who takes on the role of Tae-ju, a shaman heir to the lineage of the man-seated spirits and a figure with extraordinary abilities, exuding overwhelming charisma. ’Ahn Jae-hong’, in turn, plays Ujin, a cool-headed realist attorney who trusts only the comprehensive evidence and facts in front of him, drawing a tight confrontation between superstition and reason. Hee-yeon, Ujin’s wife, whose life becomes the spark for the eerie events, is portrayed by ’Ha Yoon-kyung’ through detailed psychological depiction, maximizing the tension throughout the story.

The megaphone went to ’Director Heo Jeong’, who introduced a new paradigm for Korean-style everyday horror through ’Hide-and-Seek’ (2013) and ’The Ghost of Jangsan’ (2017).
