The star of an overwhelming box-office record that shook Japan’s islands arrives at local movie theaters in South Korea. The 29th theatrical release of 'Detective Conan', 'Detective Conan: The Hellfire in the Highway', hits screens on Aug. 12, after topping the series’ biggest-ever opening by bringing in 3.5 billion yen (about 31.1 billion won) in just its first weekend. CJ ENM, the distributor, projected strong confidence in this new release, saying it will change the summer movie-going landscape.

This 'The Hellfire in the Highway' plunges into a tense chase set in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Blocking the path of Conan and his group as they head to a motorcycle festival is a mysterious black motorcycle known as the fallen angel 'Lucifer'. Amid 'Lucifer'’s rampage that ravages the heart of the city and produces indiscriminate casualties, Conan launches into a fierce battle of wits to trace the truth behind a tangled case.

The key element that most boosts the film’s tension is none other than 'Chihaya Haywara', the commander of the Traffic Control Mobile Unit, which makes her first appearance in the theatrical franchise. After showcasing overwhelming motorcycle action through the original manga and TV anime, she this time teams up with Conan in an unprecedented alliance to apprehend 'Lucifer'. With an extreme sense of speed that cuts across Yokohama’s massive urban sprawl and a three-dimensional road-chase sequence, the production is expected to be a deadly must-watch draw for audiences.

Based on the original work of 'Gosho Aoyama', the 'Detective Conan' series has been writing an unbeatable box-office legend every summer movie season.
