Former announcer Bae Sung-jae, 48, and former announcer Kim Da-young, 34, are expecting their first child. The news comes 18 months after they married following more than two years of dating, announcing the arrival of a “new life.”

Kim Da-young is currently focusing on prenatal care, with the couple expecting to welcome their child by the end of this year, according to people in the broadcasting industry on the 30th.

The couple's relationship has stood out from the start. In May last year, they chose a simple meal attended only by immediate family instead of a lavish wedding ceremony. By embracing what became known as the “no-wedding” trend, they drew public attention.

Their “expertise” in their respective fields has also helped sustain the public's strong trust in the couple. Bae joined SBS in 2006 as part of its 14th class of announcers after working at the KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Center, where he became one of the network's leading personalities. Since declaring himself a freelancer in 2021, he has continued to build a distinctive profile through major entertainment programs such as “Flame Band” and as a “sports caster” for international competitions.

Kim Da-young joined SBS in 2021 as an experienced-hire announcer and steadily led the network's weekday sports news on “SBS 8 News” and “Sports Tonight.” Her appearance on the popular variety show “Shooting Stars” further raised her public profile, thanks to her distinctive passion for sports. She left the network in April last year and has since been preparing for her next career move.
