A journey toward global stardom: a project to discover the next generation of K-pop stars

Broadcaster ENA will premiere a new global music audition program, Mystic (Shaping Tomorrow’s Stars), on Dec. 17. The show will offer an in-depth look at the intense process as 21 aspiring singers from South Korea and China work to grow into global artists. With promising talent from both countries coming together, the program is expected to deliver distinctive stages and polished performances that set it apart from existing audition shows.

Hosting the program are Nicole of KARA, a group that helped lead the global K-pop wave; Sandara Park of 2NE1; and Xiaoting of Kep1er, bringing both expertise and star power. Drawing on years of stage experience, they are expected to offer contestants practical advice and anchor the program.

The lineup of Star Makers, who will serve as judges, is equally impressive. Eight accomplished artists have joined the show, including Lee Young-hyun of Big Mama, known for her powerhouse vocals; Jo Kwon of 2AM; Hui of Pentagon; Kang Seung-yoon of WINNER; Solji of EXID; Yuju, formerly of GFRIEND; singer Zhang Liyin; and Lucas of Sunny. The judges, each with distinct strengths, will assess contestants’ vocals, performances and star potential from multiple angles as they work to discover the next global star.
