Oh My Girl's Arin Sweeps Asia with Drama 'S Line'... Pioneering a 'New Genre of K-Drama'

Oh My Girl member Arin's starring drama 'S Line' is making waves across Asia, showcasing new possibilities for K-Dramas. As of the 20th, this work is exclusively airing on the Malaysian Tonton channel and is receiving great attention throughout Southeast Asia.

'S Line' is a fantasy thriller about a high school student with a special ability to see a red thread above people with sexual relationships. Based on the webtoon 'Killer's Paradox' written by the original creator Kkomabi, it has garnered attention for its unique setting and immersive story.

Notably, this work won the 'Best Music Award' in the series category at the Cannes International Film Festival in May. It is the first Korean drama to win in this category, gaining recognition for its artistic quality. The soundtrack, custom-made by music director Lee Jun-oh with different concepts for each episode, received high praise.

Arin, who was active as a member of Oh My Girl, showcased a completely new side in this work. Director Ahn Joo-young revealed the casting story, saying, 'When I first met Arin, I could see she was ready to jump into the fire,' and 'I felt confident that we could do anything together.'

Arin also expressed her thoughts, saying, 'I thought, when else would I have the chance to try something like this?' and 'I really tried to show a different side of myself. I'm so happy that the feedback has been excellent.'

The drama consists of a total of 6 episodes, with 2 episodes released on July 11 and 18, culminating on the 25th. The industry is evaluating it as 'a successful case of an idol completely pioneering a new realm as an actor,' stating that 'K-Dramas have shown global competitiveness even in the fantasy genre.'
